Healon 5: Seven Tips for Clear Corneal Cataract Surgery

Slide 1 Slide 1. Healon 5 is injected onto the center of the lens prior to capsulorrhexis to reduce stress from the zonules on the lens capsule.
Slide 2 Slide 2. Capsulorrhexis is performed under a bolus of Healon 5 to aid in control of the capsule.
Slide 3 Slide 3. Healon 5 is inserted under the incision and onto the surface of the cataract to aid in passage of the phaco tip.
Slide 4 Slide 4. A bolus of Healon 5 is placed into the center of the capsular bag prior to IOL implantation.
Slide 5 Slide 5. Healon 5 aids in IOL insertion with an injection system.
Slide 6 Slide 6. Healon 5 is completely removed by placing the irrigation and aspiration tip onto the center of the IOL.
